    Beautiful book
Beautiful book and a lovely way to remember our late Queen. Sadly my daughter won’t remember her when she’s older so this book will show her how special she was.

A timely addition to this acclaimed series with plenty of corgis
‘Queen Elizabeth’ by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara with illustrations by Melissa Lee Johnson is a timely addition to the publishers’ acclaimed ‘Little People, BIG DREAMS’ series of mini-biographies intended to introduce young readers, aged 4-7, to the lives of inspiring people.

Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara condenses the key events of Queen Elizabeth II’s long life, concluding with the recent Platinum Jubilee celebrating her 70 years on the throne.

Melissa Lee Johnson’s drawings were charming. Some panels depicted the Queen’s adorable corgis accompanying her and a few even broke the fourth wall by cheekily looking out of the page to catch the eye of the reader.

The book ends with a biographical timeline accompanied by photographs and a suggestion for further reading at an older level.

I am always happy to recommend new additions to this delightful series to parents, grandparents, educators, and librarians as a gentle way to introduce children to history and nonfiction.
