    Nice Coffee Table Edition
A nice collection of photographs. There are so many beautiful photographs of our late Queen that it would be impossible to fit even the best into one volume. No doubt there are many books that have been hurriedly compiled so they’re probably going to be a much of a muchness. A couple of my favourites are missing from this volume but that will no doubt be down to ownership. As a BBC book it won’t have all of the greats but it’s a nice collection.

Lovely photos, at least one fact incorrect.
Lovely photos, but sorry not more of the meeting between The Queen and Prince Philip. Spotted an error on page 60 which someone didn’t pick up when proof reading…. The Queen ascended the throne on 6th February 1952, His Majesty King George the VI did not die on 2nd February.. he went to bed on the 5th February and was found the next morning on 6th February by his servant. This is a well documented fact. This has always been remembered in our family as it was my fathers birthday.

    Beautiful!
I was born a couple of months before “Lilibet” became “Queen Elizabeth II” – so this book ist a wonderful review of the past 70 years of not only her, but also somehow my life…
From what we got to see of her, she was an admirable person, who made her promise of April 21, 1947, come true every single day, until the end: “I declare before you that my whole life, whether it shall be long or short, shall be devoted to your service.”
She took her “job” seriously, but also had a great sense of humour, like when she made the skydive landing in the Stadium for the opening ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012 or when she received Paddington Bear for tea for her Platinum Jubilee only last June…
So this book is historically extremely powerful and enjoyable!
